Certificate of Commendation Awarded to CALE by the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice

On September 20, 2023, the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice presented a certificate of commendation to CALE, which was handed to CALE Director Masako Murakami by Vice Minister of Justice H.E. Dang Hoang Oanh. Nagoya University Graduate School of Law concluded an academic exchange agreement with Hanoi Law University, which is under the Ministry of Justice, in 1999, and has conducted academic exchanges since then. The Research and Education Center for Japanese Law was established within the university in 2007 and has already produced 133 graduates. Nagoya University also concluded an inter-university agreement with the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice in 2013, and many graduates of the Graduate School of Law are active in the front lines of the Ministry, including Minister Le Thanh Long and Vice Minister Dang Hoang Oanh.

CALE was presented with a certificate of commendation by the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam in recognition of its positive contributions to the promotion of friendly relations in legal and judicial cooperation between Vietnam and Japan. The award ceremony was also attended by Dr. Vu Thi Lan Anh, Vice Rector and Dr. Phan Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Head of the International cooperation Department, from Hanoi Law School, a long-time partner of CALE, and by President Naoshi Sugiyama and Vice President Norimi Mizutani from the Nagoya University. There are currently 27 Vietnamese students enrolled in the Graduate School of Law, and the ceremony was preceded by a discussion between the Vietnamese delegation and students.
