GSL Graduate Dr. Tsogt Tsend Appointed as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Mongolia

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Tsogt Tsend, a distinguished alumnus of the Asia Satellite Campuses Institute (ASCI) doctoral program, has been officially appointed as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Mongolia on June 15, 2026.

Dr. Tsogt has played a central role in the development of Mongolia’s judiciary for many years. After serving as a judge in various courts, he was appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court in 2020. He completed his LL.D. at Nagoya University’s GSL through the ASCI program in 2017, focusing on the development of administrative litigation in Mongolia under the supervision of Prof. Katsuya Ichihashi. Notably, he is the very first graduate of the ASCI doctoral program, making his appointment an especially meaningful achievement for our university.

His appointment as Chief Justice marks a historic milestone for Mongolia and a moment of great pride for Nagoya University, which is committed to fostering legal professionals and researchers across Asia.
