Professor Emeritus Masanori Aikyo Receives FY 2024 Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation

Professor Emeritus Masanori Aikyo has received the FY 2024 Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation.

The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas. The Commendations also aim to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public for the activities of the recipients.

The award was conferred upon the promotion of academic exchange between Japan and Vietnam in the judicial system.

He specializes in Vietnamese constitutional law and has promoted the Japanese
government’s legal assistance project in Vietnam since its initial stage in the mid-1990s. He has long been involved in the academic exchange between Hanoi Law School and Nagoya University and contributed to establishing the Vietnamese Research and Education Center for Japanese Law in 2007. He has been working long towards legal education and developing human resources in the legal and judicial fields in Vietnam.

The award ceremony was commenced on August 8, 2024, at Iikura Hall, Tokyo.
