Professor Narangerel Sodovsuren and Professor Amarsanaa Batbold from the National University of Mongolia (NUM) visit CALE
On October 19, 2026, GSL and CALE welcomed Professor Narangerel Sodovsuren and Professor Amarsanaa Batbold from the National University of Mongolia (NUM).
Professor Narangerel, a leading Mongolian legal scholar and former Dean of the NUM School of Law, played a pivotal role in establishing the academic partnership between our institutions. Professor Amarsanaa, the current Dean of the School of Law, obtained both his master’s and doctoral degrees from GSL.
The partnership between Nagoya University and NUM dates back to 2000, when the GSL first concluded an academic agreement with the NUM’s School of Law. The relationship strengthened further in 2006 with the establishment of CJL and a university-wide agreement. Notably, Professor Amarsanaa was among the first Mongolian students accepted into our graduate program. Today, 20 Mongolian students are studying at GSL, demonstrating the enduring strength of this partnership.
During their visit, the two professors met with President Naoshi Sugiyama and joined a gathering with Mongolian students at Nagoya University. A particularly memorable moment was seeing them wearing Nagoya University ties presented by the students and taking commemorative photographs with Toyoda Auditorium in the background.
Their visit was a meaningful reminder of the enduring friendship and academic cooperation that have connected Nagoya University and Mongolia for more than 25 years.
