Mongolian/Japanese students’ online exchange event within the framework of the “JENESYS” program promoted by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On March 23, 2022, an online exchange program was held between Mongolian and Japanese students under the auspices of an exchange program for promoting understanding of Japan – “JENESYS,” promoted by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The JENESYS is designed as a platform for young people who will lead their countries in the future and promote international understanding of Japan’s politics, economy, society, culture, and history.

 Normally, this platform seeks to invite foreign guests to visit Japan for face-to-face interactions. However, this time, organizers conducted it online because of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.

There were 13 (2nd to 5th year) students participating online from Mongolia this time. All Mongolian students are affiliated with the Research and Education Center for Japanese Law, established at Mongolia National University. Mongolian students interacted with nine fellow students from Japan enrolled at Aichi Prefectural University, Osaka University, Kanazawa University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Tohoku University, Hitotsubashi University, and Nagoya University. The exchange was conducted in Japanese. Students exchanged opinions on a wide range of questions ranging from; ownership and tax law from the image of nomad life, and neutrality, religion and spirituality. Mongolian students made presentations on traditional coaxing rituals for camels and real Mongolia.
