They need to create a new legal system to promote fair market economy, establish the rule of law, democracy and a system for the protection of human rights.<br \/>\nIn line with economic globalization, they have to bring their legal systems into conformity with international standards.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<h3 class=\"md01\">What is \u201cLegal Assistance\u201d ?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"cmd01\">Cooperation in legislative drafting and judicial system reform<\/p>\n<p class=\"cmd02\">CALE promotes cooperation in legislative drafting and other related activities to establish a fair market economy and to bring legal systems into conformity with international standards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"cmd01\">Cooperation in legal education and training of legal professionals<\/p>\n<p class=\"cmd03\">CALE promotes cooperation in educating and training jurists and legal professionals to help them develop stronger capacity in drafting new legislation and applying enacted laws.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<h2 class=\"md00\">Three CALE missions<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"md01\">CALE develops legal assistance projects in cooperation with the government of Japan,<\/h3>\n<p class=\"lead01\">The government of Japan has been providing legal assistance to countries in Asia since the 1990s.
